Dive-site story
The paddle steamer Jura sank in 1864 following a collision in dense fog and now sits remarkably intact on the silty floor of Lake Constance. Cold, low-oxygen freshwater has preserved much of the wooden superstructure, paddle wheels, and bow decorations. Divers descend down a fixed mooring line into twilight conditions where high-powered torches are essential to explore the deck cabins and machinery.
