Dive-site story
Located off the coast of Isla Baru near Cartagena, La Virgen is named after an underwater statue of the Virgin Mary placed on the seabed. The topography transitions from shallow sand flats and seagrass beds into hard coral patches and soft coral gardens. Divers typically follow the reef contour around the monument, where localized clusters of marine life shelter around the artificial structure and nearby coral outcroppings.
