Dive-site story
Located off the rocky headland separating Playa Hermosa and Playas del Coco, Cacique provides a sheltered volcanic reef environment typical of the Gulf of Papagayo. Volcanic rock boulders cascade into sandy patches where whitetip reef sharks frequently rest on the bottom. The dive typically follows the rock contour, drifting past crevices sheltered from offshore swell.
