Dive sites in Djibouti

Bouée coulée centers around a large sunken navigation buoy that has transformed into an artificial reef off the coast of the Maskali and Moucha island complex. Coralline encrustations and sponges cover the metallic frame, which sits anchored on a sloping sandy seabed beside scattered coral heads. Divers navigate between the metal structure and nearby patch reefs where marine life gathers in the prevailing currents of the Gulf of Tadjoura.

Situated within the remote Seven Brothers archipelago in the Bab el Mandeb Strait, La Marche features a series of terraced rock ledges descending into deep blue water. Tidal currents funneling between the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden sweep across these underwater steps, nourishing dense soft coral carpets and attracting large schools of pelagic fish.

Situated along the northern coast of the Gulf of Tadjoura near Tadjoura town, Sable Blanc offers an accessible fringing reef that shelves gently away from white sandy shores.
