Dive-site story
Situated along Dominica's sheltered northwest coast near Douglas Bay, Five Fingers takes its name from a series of distinct volcanic ridges that project outward from the shallows like digits on an outstretched hand. Divers glide over these parallel spurs of ancient lava encrusted with azure vase sponges, deep-water sea fans, and hard coral colonies. The topography creates varied micro-habitats between the ridges, where sand channels give way to rocky slopes and mini-walls frequented by cruising pelagics and macro critters alike.
