Dive-site story
Sunk intentionally off the coast of Bayahibe in 1999, the St. George is a 73-meter transatlantic cargo vessel that now sits upright on a flat sandy sea floor. The vessel has developed substantial encrusting sponge and soft coral growth across its deck machinery, hull, and wheelhouse. Given its position and overall depth profile, the site demands strict gas planning and buoyancy control, making it one of the premier deep wreck dives in the Dominican Republic.
