Dive-site story
Located directly outside the port of Hurghada, the El Mina is a Soviet-built T43-class minesweeper commissioned by the Egyptian Navy. Sunk by Israeli airstrikes in 1970 during the War of Attrition, the vessel rests on its port side across a barren, silty seabed. Blast damage is evident along the hull, exposing internal deck machinery, deck guns, and ammunition remnants across the wreckage.
