Dive-site story
Located off the cliffs of Palm-Mar in southern Tenerife, Cueva de las Morenas is famous for its dark volcanic cavern and dense concentration of eel species. A memorial cross stands near the cavern entrance on the sandy seabed, dedicated to an ocean pioneer. Divers descend along a sheer volcanic wall to explore the main cavern chambers, which feature wide arches and basalt crevices shelterings several varieties of morays and rays.
