Dive-site story
Located off the southern coast of Fuerteventura near Morro Jable, El Cañon is a volcanic trench cutting across a sandy plateau before dropping into the open Atlantic. Volcanic ledges and overhangs flank the central canyon floor, providing shelter for morays and large stingrays. Pelagic species frequently pass along the outer drop-off, where Atlantic currents bring nutrient-rich waters against the basalt reef wall.
