Dive-site story
Sunk deliberately to form an artificial reef off Tenerife's northeast coast, the El Peñón tugboat sits upright on the sandy seabed. Divers enter from the coastal promenade steps in Tabaiba, following the sloping bottom straight to the hull. Cleared corridors and open hatchways allow qualified divers inside spaces such as the engine room and wheelhouse, while pelagic schools patrol the superstructure and benthic life settles in the sand outside.
