Dive-site story
Situated along the rocky Costa Brava coastline off Palafrugell and Tamariu, Gorgonies takes its name from the prominent fields of sea fans clinging to its submerged granite contours. The underwater terrain features steep rocky faces and boulder fields descending towards deep sand channels. Sponges, bryozoans, and clusters of Mediterranean red gorgonians cover the sheltered walls, while schools of fish cruise the open water above the drop-offs.
