Dive-site story
Situated along the western flank of the iconic Gabinière islet within Port-Cros National Park, this site features a steep rocky slope transitioning into a dramatic drop-off. Strict marine park protections established decades ago have allowed resident predators to flourish in unusual densities. Divers descend along boulder fields covered in yellow cluster anemones and red gorgonians before drifting along the deeper wall sections where pelagic life frequents the open blue.
Extremely dense aggregations of large, calm dusky groupers resting on rocky ledges
Schools of yellowmouth barracuda swirling in the water column near the point
Vibrant red gorgonian seafans colonizing deep rocky shelves
Frequent hunting passes by common dentex and amberjacks against the current
