Dive-site story
Located in the bay of Cavalaire-sur-Mer, the Ramon Membru was a Spanish cargo steamship that sank in the early twentieth century. Although heavily broken up over decades on the sandy substrate, the scattered hull plates, steam boiler, and machinery create an artificial reef with numerous swim-throughs and crevices.
Well-defined steam boiler and engine machinery encrusted in sponges
Sheltered overhangs that regularly harbor large conger eels and morays
Accessible wreck profile suitable for progressing beyond basic open water certification
