Dive-site story
Located along the north shore of Loch Etive, Bonawe Quarry offers a plunge into Scotland's distinctive sea loch diving. Divers enter from the rocky shoreline and descend past granite quarry scree onto steep muddy slopes. A dark, peat-stained freshwater layer often blankets the surface, cutting ambient daylight dramatically and giving deeper depths a night-diving feel even at midday.
Extensive colonies of majestic fireworks anemones rooted in the deep soft sediment
Dramatic underwater boulder scree created by historic granite quarrying
Sheltered conditions shielded from open Atlantic ocean swells
