Dive-site story
Lying off the Northumberland coast, the Farne Islands host one of the most celebrated colonies of Atlantic grey seals in the British Isles. Divers navigate rocky reefs draped in dense kelp and steep underwater gullies carved by North Sea currents. While the curious seal pups often approach divers to investigate fins and drysuits, the archipelago also hides numerous historical shipwrecks and dramatic drop-offs coated with cold-water invertebrates.
