Dive-site story
HMS Scylla is a former Royal Navy Leander-class frigate intentionally scuttled in Whitsand Bay to establish an artificial reef. Over decades beneath the surface, winter storms have accelerated the degradation of her superstructure, turning what was once an easily penetrable wreck into an unstable site best enjoyed from the exterior. Thick blankets of dead man's fingers and plumose anemones coat the hull plates, while schools of fish congregate around the remaining vertical relief.
Extensive coverage of plumose anemones and dead man's fingers across the outer hull
Large schools of bib and pollack swarming around the superstructure
Opportunity to spot congor eels hiding in metal crevices and hull breaches
