Dive-site story
Mercers Lake is a flooded former sand quarry situated in Surrey, frequently used by local clubs and dive schools for open water training. A silty basin surrounds submerged features including training platforms, small sunken vessels, and swim-throughs. Due to heavy sediment on the bottom, good buoyancy control is required to prevent silt-outs, particularly during large training sessions.
Submerged training platforms built at varied depths for skills practice
Sunken training wrecks and small watercraft resting along the lakebed
Native freshwater fish sheltering among weed beds and artificial structures

Seasonality
Warmer water temperatures make late spring to early autumn the most comfortable period, although winter dives often provide improved water clarity.
