Dive-site story
Located on the treacherous submerged pinnacle known historically as Myrmex and locally as Lefteris Reef, this site sits in the channel between Pelion and Skiathos. The cargo ship Vera struck the shallow reef and sank, settling into clear open waters along the reef's rocky slopes. The vessel broke into sections during the grounding and sinking, creating an accessible structure colonized by Mediterranean reef species.
Well-preserved hull structure and cargo hold sections resting against the rocky underwater ridge
Expansive schools of damselfish and anthias hovering around the superstructure
Historical location dating back to antiquity as a notorious navigational hazard
