Dive-site story
Located off the southern coast of Kos in the Dodecanese, this site is shaped by the active volcanic geology of the nearby Nisyros volcanic field. Gas vents continuously release fine streams of bubbles through the sandy seabed, mimicking effervescent champagne. Warm substrate around the hydrothermal seepages frequently draws rays that settle directly into the sand flats next to low rocky reefs.
Subsurface volcanic vents venting continuous bubble columns from the seabed
Frequent encounters with stingrays resting in thermally warmed sand patches
Clear Aegean visibility across mixed rocky reefs and seagrass borders
