Dive-site story
Resting against the inside of the Glass Breakwater in Apra Harbor, the American Tanker is a concrete-hulled barge sunk shortly after World War II. The structure sits upright on a sloping seabed, allowing divers to inspect cargo holds, open deck machinery, and the large rudder assembly. Sheltered harbor waters provide calm diving conditions year-round, making the upper decks accessible to recreational divers while technical penetration into lower compartments remains an option for trained wreck divers.
