Resting upside down on a coral-strewn slope inside Apra Harbor, the Val Bomber is the wreckage of a World War II Japanese Aichi D3A carrier-borne dive bomber. Divers can inspect the exposed radial engine, propeller blades, and fixed landing gear spats that remain intact despite decades on the seabed. Surrounding coral heads host reef fish, while the metal airframe provides shelter for cryptic macro critters.
