Dive-site story
Resting at the base of a vertical cliff off the island of Vis, Fortunal is a modern wooden fishing boat that sank in the late 1990s after striking the rocky coastline. The hull sits upright on a sandy incline directly below a sheer underwater drop-off. The wreck remains remarkably intact, featuring a well-preserved wheelhouse and deck winches now colonized by sponges and cold-water sea fans. Because of its deep positioning and location against an open drop-off, this site demands good buoyancy control and careful gas monitoring.

Dense fields of red gorgonian fans extending across the adjacent drop-off
