Dive-site story
Resting on a steep slope off the southwestern coast of Vis island near Komiža, this Greek cargo steamship foundered in heavy seas in 1939. The vessel lies on its port side, intact from bow to stern, with the superstructure, cargo holds, and giant bronze propeller creating an imposing underwater silhouette against the open blue. Soft corals, sponges, and marine growth coat the metallic hull, while schools of fish congregate around the masts and open deck sections.
