Dive-site story
Sunk during World War II by British aerial torpedoes, the Italian torpedo boat Giuseppe Dezza (later designated TA 35 by the Kriegsmarine) lies broken in two sections along the Istrian seabed. The heavily photographed stern section rests upright, displaying prominent deck artillery including an intact stern gun and dual anti-aircraft mountings. Encrusting sponges and tunicates cloak the steel framework, which shelters resident benthic fauna.
