Dive-site story
Sitting offshore in Pemuteran Bay, Close Encounter is an underwater coral seamount rising from a deep sandy seafloor. The formation features a broad top plateau that gradually slopes away on all sides into deeper waters. Sponges, large sea fans, and extensive hard coral gardens cover the slopes, attracting passing pelagics and schooling reef fish from open water.
