Dive-site story
Deep Turbo is an offshore seamount formation located off the coast of Gili Trawangan, characterized by dramatic coral mounds, sandy channels, and massive sea fans rising from the deep seabed. Because of its depth and exposed position, it attracts pelagic marine life alongside dense schools of open-water fish. Divers descend into deep water to drift among towering gorgonians and inspect the sand channels where benthic rays and sharks frequently rest.
Expansive fields of giant gorgonian sea fans and huge barrel sponges
Regular sightings of leopard sharks and resting whitetip reef sharks in the sand channels
Schools of batfish, giant trevally, and barracuda congregating in the blue
Occasional encounters with passing eagle rays and manta rays
