Located on the western coast of Nusa Penida facing the Ceningan channel, Gamat Bay offers a dramatic shift between its sheltered inner bay and a steep, current-swept offshore slope. The shallow interior features coral bommies and sand channels that nurture small critters. Further out, the reef drops precipitously into deep water where strong channel currents bring pelagic species and seasonal upwellings.
