Dive-site story
Resting upright on a sloping seabed just off the coastline of Molas village in Manado Bay, this submerged Dutch merchant vessel dates back to World War II. The iron hull remains largely intact, draped in hard corals, encrusting sponges, and hydroids. Divers descending down the mooring line encounter the elevated bow before following the declining deck toward the rudder and propeller assembly. The surrounding sandy floor frequently conceals benthic critters and opportunistic predators circling the artificial reef structure.
Well-preserved iron hull and deck machinery colonized by diverse invertebrate life
Schools of batfish hovering around the bow superstructure
Macro photography opportunities along the railings, including nudibranchs and flatworms
