Dive-site story
Shark Plateau is an offshore submerged reef plateau situated off Pulau Weh in northern Sumatra. Swept by oceanic currents, the submerged plateau features a mix of rocky outcrops, encrusting hard corals, and large gorgonians that attract apex predators. Divers typically descend quickly onto the reef shelf to hook in or drift along the edge while watching schools of pelagic fish and patrolling reef sharks cruise by in the open water.
