Dive-site story
Located off the rugged northwestern coast of Marettimo in the Egadi Islands Marine Protected Area, this deep wall dive is named after two prominent colonies of Mediterranean false black coral. Steep limestone drop-offs plunge into deep blue water where overhangs shelter invertebrates and benthic predators, while pelagic species patrol out in the open current.
Massive yellow tree-like colonies of Savalia savaglia anchored along the drop-off
Dramatic vertical limestone topography featuring deep crevices and overhangs
Encounters with dusky groupers and cruising amberjacks along the wall
