Dive-site story
Resting upright on the silty seabed of the northern Adriatic off the coast of Chioggia, the cargo ship Evdokia II sank following a collision in fog. The substantial wreck has developed into an artificial oasis amidst an otherwise uniform muddy sea floor. Divers navigate along the open cargo holds, the sprawling deck fixtures, and the intact superstructure, where schools of fish gather and dense invertebrate life coats the rusted plating.
Extensive deck architecture and open hold structures suitable for external exploration
Large resident European lobsters and conger eels sheltering within deck pipes and hull cavities
Thick colonization of yellow encrusting sponges, hydroids, and tunicates over the iron plates
