Dive-site story
Set along the sheer limestone cliffs of Tavolara Island within the marine protected area, Grottone centers around a massive submerged cavern. Sunlight penetrates deep into the wide entrance, illuminating vertical rock faces overgrown with yellow cluster anemones and sponges. Outside the cavern arch, boulder fields slope away into open water where pelagic species patrol along the drop-off.
Expansive cavern chamber with dramatic natural light beams piercing the overhead openings
Dense carpets of yellow cluster anemones covering the shaded cavern ceiling and walls
Frequent encounters with mature dusky groupers resting on sandy ledges near the entrance
