Dive-site story
The KT-12 was a German naval armed transport ship sunk in June 1943 by the British submarine HMS Safari off the coast of Orosei. Torpedo damage separated the vessel into two main sections that now rest on an open sand bed. The bow section sits upright and intact, retaining recognizable deck machinery, cargo holds, and defensive armament that have transformed into an artificial reef.
Intact bow deck fitted with anchor winches and remnants of anti-aircraft gun mounts
Large open cargo holds accessible to divers with wreck training
Heavy colonization of encrusting sponges and tube worms over metal plating
