Dive-site story
Resting off the western coast of Sicily near Marausa, this site features the scattered remains of a World War II British Royal Air Force Vickers Wellington twin-engine bomber. The aircraft lies on a sandy seafloor interspersed with patches of seagrass. Over decades beneath the sea, the distinctive geodetic lattice airframe and radial engines have transformed into an artificial reef that shelters cryptic Mediterranean invertebrates and juvenile fish.
