Dive-site story
Rising from the open sea off the western coast of Ustica, this isolated volcanic rock formation is widely regarded as a signature dive of the Mediterranean marine reserve. A series of deep drop-offs, massive boulders, and expansive caverns carve through the submerged geology. Strong pelagic action defines the outer walls, where schools of predators circle over dark volcanic bedrock encrusted with sponges and false corals.
Extensive swim-throughs and canyon passages cutting entirely through the volcanic rock formation
Dense gatherings of mature dusky groupers resting along the plateaus and rocky ledges
Large schools of barracuda and hunting amberjacks patrolling the blue off the western tip
