Dive-site story
Secchitello is an offshore rocky pinnacle located within the Ustica Marine Protected Area. Rising abruptly from a deep sandy seabed, the structure attracts open-water pelagics while offering deep rocky walls covered in red gorgonians. Divers typically drop straight onto the pinnacle top and circle the formation during a blue-water descent, monitoring currents and bottom time closely.
Steep walls densely covered in vibrant red sea fans (Paramuricea clavata)
Frequent flybys of hunting amberjacks, dentex, and schooling barracuda
Large resident dusky groupers patrolling the rocky ledges and crevices
