Dive-site story
Resting right outside George Town harbor, the Cali is the scattered wreckage of a four-masted schooner carrying a cargo of rice that sprang a leak in the nineteen-forties. Deemed a hazard to navigation, the vessel was later demolished by authorities, leaving twisted steel ribs, exposed hull plating, and heavy engine blocks resting across a flat sandy floor. Its shallow depth and clear inshore water make it an accessible shore dive or snorkel excursion directly from the waterfront.
