Dive-site story
Rising abruptly from the sea just outside Dwejra Bay on the western coast of Gozo, this imposing limestone monolith features vertical walls that plunge into deep blue water. Underwater gullies, towering overhangs, and cavernous fissures dissect the submerged perimeter of the islet. Divers circumnavigate portions of the rock to observe deep-water pelagic species patrolling off the vertical drop-offs alongside benthic fauna tucked inside the rock face.
Steep sheer drop-offs dropping away into deep open water
Expansive swim-throughs, fissures, and light-filled vertical chimneys
Regular sightings of pelagic hunters cruising in the blue
Rocky overhangs covered in sponges, tube worms, and encrusting organisms

Seasonality
Calmer seas and warmer water during late spring through autumn make boat access and deep wall profiles most reliable.
