Dive-site story
Located directly outside the fish processing plant on Kooddoo Island in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, this site gathers large concentrations of pelagic predators drawn by fishery discards. Divers descend to a sandy slope just beyond the harbor wall, settling onto the seabed to watch dozens of sharks circle in open water. While not an ornate coral garden, the sheer density of shark encounters makes it one of the southern atolls' most intense wildlife dives.
Frequent encounters with large aggregations of spinner sharks performing vertical hunting dashes
Nurse sharks and stingrays patrolling the sandy ledges close to the bottom
Opportunity for twilight or night dives with elevated predator activity
