Dive-site story
Located at the northwestern tip of Addu Atoll off Hithadhoo, Kottey Corner is an exposed outer reef corner featuring a steep slope that plunges into deep blue water. Currents sweep past the headland, drawing schooling pelagics and predatory fish along the coral-covered drop-off. The upper reef is characterized by large hard coral formations, while the deeper contours are patrolling grounds for sharks and rays.
Cruising grey reef sharks and whitetip reef sharks off the outer edge
Expansive table corals and brain corals across the reef top
Regular sightings of passing eagle rays and green sea turtles
Fast-paced drift diving when oceanic currents push against the atoll corner
