Dive-site story
Villimalé Reef fringes the island of Villimalé just west of Malé. Starting from a sandy lagoon slope, the reef terrace drops toward deeper water with patches of hard coral, small overhangs, and coral restoration nurseries managed by local conservation initiatives. Divers encounter resident green turtles grazing on sea grass patches alongside schooling reef fish and benthic macro life.
