Piedra Solitaria is an isolated rock formation rising from a sandy bottom off the coast of Zihuatanejo. Rocky ledges, crevices, and surrounding boulders provide sheltered habitat for resting marine life. Pacific swells periodically wash across the upper structure, making buoyancy control important around the shallower crest.
