Dive-site story
Swanee Reef is a submerged rocky outcrop situated south of Isla Espíritu Santo in the Sea of Cortez. Boulders and rock formations give way to expansive sandy bottoms dotted with garden eel colonies. Because the site sits in the San Lorenzo Channel, currents often sweep across the ridge, bringing nutrient-rich waters that sustain dense aggregations of reef fish and passing pelagics.
