Dive-site story
Sunk deliberately off Pulau Mataking in March 2006, this wooden cargo ship serves as Malaysia's first operational underwater post office. Divers can seal waterproof postcards into a working mailbox mounted on the vessel, where resort dive staff collect and post them through the national mail service. Over time, the timber hull and surrounding rigging have matured into an artificial reef, colonised by hard and soft corals and sheltering schools of pelagic and benthic fish on an otherwise bare sandy plain.
