Dive-site story
Situated off Mataking Island in Sabah's Semporna region, Stingray City features a sloping seabed interspersed with coral bommies and wide sandy patches. The site is named for the frequent presence of rays resting along the sand or feeding near coral heads. Divers drift along the gentle slope while examining the soft corals and hard coral formations for macro subjects and cruising reef life.
Multiple ray species camouflaged in the sandy flats or resting under ledges
Expansive coral bommies sheltering macro fauna such as frogfish and nudibranchs
