Dive-site story
Situated off the coast of Inhambane Province, Manta Reef is world-renowned for its series of active cleaning stations. Divers drift above flat rocky plateaus and down into sandy amphitheatres where massive rays hover almost motionless while cleaner wrasse inspect their wings. Strong oceanic currents frequently sweep across the top of the reef, fueling high pelagic activity including passing sharks, schooling game fish, and large groupers lurking under overhangs.
Multiple natural cleaning stations hosting giant manta rays and reef mantas
Frequent encounters with schooling trevally, barracuda, and large potato groupers
Expansive reef plateaus interspersed with sandy gullies and drop-offs
