Dive-site story
Located near Zierikzee along the Oosterschelde, Zeelandbrug is one of the most celebrated cold-water dive sites in northwestern Europe. Divers navigate down a reinforced dike slope leading toward massive bridge pillars that are thickly encrusted with plumose anemones, tunicates, and sponges. The site is world-renowned for its spring cuttlefish breeding aggregation, where animals travel into the estuary to mate and deposit clusters of eggs onto artificial sepia frames and natural structures.

Pillar bases encrusted with dense carpets of plumose anemones, hydroids, and soft corals
Regular macro sightings of European seahorses, sea slugs, and squat lobsters
