Dive-site story
Located in a freshwater volcanic crater lake on Auckland's North Shore, the Pumphouse is one of the most frequently used diver training locations in the region. Entering from the reserve near the historic brick theatre, divers follow a gently sloping bed of weed and silt down toward submerged training platforms and historical pipework remnants. Because the bottom composition consists of fine sediment, careful buoyancy control is essential to avoid disturbing visibility.
