Dive-site story
Sunk in 1986 after striking rocks near Gannet Point, the Soviet ocean liner MS Mikhail Lermontov rests on its starboard side in Port Gore as one of the largest diveable passenger shipwrecks on the planet. Intact ballrooms, promenade decks, stairwells, and passenger cabins offer penetration routes for qualified technical divers, while the upper hull and superstructure remain accessible to experienced recreational divers.
