Dive-site story
The Rainbow Warrior rests upright in a sheltered bay among the Cavalli Islands, serving as a thriving artificial reef and a poignant historical memorial. Bombed in Auckland Harbour in 1985, the Greenpeace flagship was scuttled here in 1987. Dense colonies of jewel anemones coat the hull in vivid pinks, greens, and oranges, while schools of fish constantly swirl around the masts and superstructure.
Extensive coatings of colorful jewel anemones encrusting the exterior hull and railings
Schools of sweep and bigeye hovering over the upright wheelhouse and masts
Opportunity for trained divers to execute controlled penetrations into open hold areas
